Tried Thunderbird 0.8, but not get back to 0.7.3 because of the following:
After working good for some time, I have discovered, that Thunderbird don't get
the mail message from my /var/mail/lexey. I could 'cat' the file, but when doing
'Get mail' Thunderbird simply didn't get it. Restarting Thunderbird several
times, running some tricks like 'compact folders', 'empty trash', 'run junk mail
controls on folder' didn't help.
Then I started 0.7.3 and it got that message fine.
Then I tried to copy that message to /var/mail/lexey again and reproduce the bug
in 0.8, but failed. Now 0.8 got the message well.

Looks like a dupe of bug 239583, which was only fixed recently, and I don't 
think the fix made it to Thunderbird.

I'm not sure bug 239583 is related...the reporter said this worked with .7.3 but
not .8

Alexei Gaidioukov, is this bug still a problem for you with current builds of 
Thunderbird (or Mozilla, if you're using the suite)?
