This has to be the weirdest bug I have ever seen. The page loads normally, but
suddenly, the text begins to mutate. If you put your mouse over it, it will
change everything from line height to spacing to font weight. Also, if you try
moving your mouse over one of the links, they all disappear, making it
impossible to click.
I'm currently running M13 on a Win98 box, with build ID 2000012520. This bug
happens every time I go to the above page, or any other pages in the /journal/
directory. Since the page isn't mine, I couldn't tweak things around and isolate
the bug.
I thought it may have been something with the CSS involved, but the text is just
in a TD tag. Here's the style for the TD elements from the StyleWin.css:
TD {
font-family: "Helvetica", "Arial", Sans-Serif;
text-decoration: none;
font-size:10pt;
}
Doesn't look like anything that could alter the text this way. I've seen this
screwy effect before, and it's always set off by moving your mouse over the text.

The style sheet for that page http://www.gaijin.com/dhtml/gaijinStyle.css
contains:
:hover { font-family: "Helvetica", "Arial", Sans-Serif; text-decoration: none;
font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF; }
So this is expected behavior. However, CSS people may want to consider ignoring
style attributes which cause the page to reflow. Changing summary, reassigning
to pierre.
