Thunderbird will crash if you search a posts message body for a word that will
return alot of results.

For example,
using the newsgroup news.gmane.org and the group gmane.network.samba.general if
set to offline and you download all the posts (mine has 50k). If you then select
message body from the quick search box on the top right and search for say "bug"
or "smb" it will search for a few seconds then crash. Search's with few results
work.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. using the newsgroup news.gmane.org and the group gmane.network.samba.general
2. Set to offline and download all posts (mine has 50k)
3. select message body from the quick search box on the top right
4. search for say "bug" or "smb" it will search for a few seconds then crash

Actual Results:  
Crash, shows quality feedback agent

Expected Results:  
it should work :)

Im having the same problems with the Thunderbird 0.8 version and the newsgroup
microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer.It has only 3000 items and every time I
search for "ras" in the message body it will crash.

Carl, please take a look at bug 242944. Did this bug describes the behavior of
Thunderbird you had?
