Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) Build Identifier: Thunderbird .7 and .8 When sending mail and attaching a Word document, the message body gets through to the recipient, but not the attachment. Other formats ok, tried one with a jpg, a pdf, an xls and a word. All attachments except Word get through. I get an error message that copying to sent folder failed - which is true, the messages don't appear in sent. This came up suddenly after 2 months of faultless behavior of Tbird .7. Switching to .8 tonight did not help. This problem has been reported at least 15 times in several (admittedly mostly confused) ways in the forum since the middle of august. So far there has been no reaction at all from mozilla, which I consider rather unconsiderate. This is a *very* serious problem. Oh, to avoid confusion: IMAP has nothing to do with it, never used it. It is just Tbird and Word. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

is it every Word document, or only a particular Word document? Is your fcc folder a local Sent folder or an imap folder? I have no problem sending word documents with a .8 tbird build...

Rik Smits, in addition to answering the questions in comment 1 -- what is the path and file name of the Word document you're trying to attach?

Rik, so your sent mail folder is a local folder, not an IMAP folder? Could you send one of these messages to me, bienvenu @ nventure.com , so I can see what it looks like, e.g., if you're using quoted printable, etc.

dup of 236239, I'm pretty sure. I believe this association is stored in mimetypes.rdf but I'm a bit fuzzy on the details. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 236239 ***
