User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10 I often get email containing inline photos, and used to on AOL be able to quickly cut and paste it into email I sent to other people. In thunderbird if I try that (cntl c, cntl v) the result in the destination composition window just has empty boxes where the photos should be. If I save the email with file save as, and then open it with tbird, I get the empty boxes, but if I open it with outlook I can see the photos. Trying to paste into say notebook or word with the stuff I presumably copied also does not display images. I tried cut and past again on the message when it was opened in outlook, but that won't successfully paste into a tbird composition window either. The only work around I've found is for each photo do a right click save image as, then in the composition window do an insert image, but this is not reasonable if someone has sent 12 images, etc. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.see above 2. 3. Actual Results: no images Expected Results: see images

I don't understand that last sentence -- what, exactly, are you saving, and what are you opening in Outlook? Does the message you're copying from contain the actual images, or does it only have URLs to them?
I'm saving the email I'm trying to copy the body of, and I'm opening that saved .eml file with outlook. I just emailed you the message body of such a message. It looks to me, as an ignorant newbie, like the jpg is in the body.
I think this may be related to 262211. Not that it's the same bug, but it's a cousin.
