262305 - news thread pane resets when mail is automatically checked

When reading any newsgroup and a mail account is set to automatically check for
mail every so often, when the mail is checked the news titles lists moves to the
top of the list and no longer has focus.  hitting 'n' for next results in the
first message in the list being selected to be read.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set an email account to check for new mail every minute
2. Go to a newsgroup
3. pick a message in the middle of that newsgroup
4. wait a minute
Note: It might only do this when new mail arrives, but i don't think so.

Actual Results:  
After about a minute, the message pane went blank, the message list reset to the
top of the list and no message was highlighted.

Expected Results:  
Remained in the same state, at the the same position in the same message.
