I'm QA contact on bug 194867. My mail settings have every checkbox in the "keyword field changes" row unchecked. Yet I received this: ---------------------8<--------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 29 Sep 2004 10:26:23 -0700 Message-Id: <200409291726.i8THQNWA018845@mecha.mozilla.org> From: bugzilla-daemon@mozilla.org To: ian@hixie.ch Subject: [Bug 194867] Every third table renders a gap between the border and cell with cellspacing=0 and CSS for border settings X-Bugzilla-Reason: QAcontact https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=194867 bernd_mozilla@gmx.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keywords| |testcase ---------------------8<--------------------------------------------------------- Why?
I also sometimes get e-mails from bugs where only the CC field changed, despite having no checkboxes on the "CC field changes" row checked.
OS: Windows 2000 → All

Summary: I get notifications I shouldn't → Email preferences for role=qacontact are not honored
bug 128839 will likely fix this.
Depends on: 128839
This is not just qacontact. I also periodically get mail from bugs where I'm just CC even though I have "CC field changes" turned off.
Reassigning bugs that I'm not actively working on to the default component owner in order to try to make some sanity out of my personal buglist. This doesn't mean the bug isn't being dealt with, just that I'm not the one doing it. If you are dealing with this bug, please assign it to yourself.

gerv, is this fixed by your patch in bug 73665? wicked, can you reproduce?
Depends on: emailprefs
No longer depends on: 128839
LpSolit: no idea. I would hope so. We don't have a reproduction scenario, so should we close this as "probably fixed" and see if anyone opens another one? Gerv
Nope, can't reproduce this bug. I tested current trunk/2.20rc1, 2.18 branch tip and checkout from 2005-03-01 and 2004-09-01. Disabling keyword field changes QA in contact role effectively disabled bugmail for these changes. As I tested this also without emailprefs patch (bug 73665, the 2005-03-01 checkout) then it probably didn't fix this.. Ian, have you had these bugmails still? If so, you could try going to your email preferences and just save them again. I remember there have been bugs about email prefs getting tangled up in DB. For now, I'd suggest to close this as WFM.
I've resaved my settings. I'll post here any mails I get.
Haven't seen any problems since changing the QA settings. So maybe the problem was just that I didn't understand that pref.

Based on the comments on this bug and reproduction attempts on landfill, I'm going to assume this was fixed by the checkin from bug 73665 and/or bug 128839. Note that both of those bugs were committed *after* the last time b.m.o was updated, which makes it highly likely that b.m.o still has this problem, and that both patches are too high-impact to be able to apply the patches to b.m.o without doing a wholesale upgrade. A wholesale upgrade is planned ASAP, however it depends on having time available among the other sysadmin emergencies that keep coming up lately. See bug 280371 for that.

Feel free to reopen this if you can reproduce this on b.m.o *after* the next upgrade.
Target Milestone: --- → Bugzilla 2.20
you can also reopen this if you can reproduce it on landfill 2.20 or tip. (sorry for the spam, was a late thought)
