when adding bookmarks the bookmark dialog box does not disapear.  when you click
add again, it adds the bookmark again.  does the same with rss feeds.  once i
exit the browswer and reopen, all my bookmark and rss feeds are gone.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to book mark & add, click ok.  the box does not go away. click ok again,
then click the red x. now go to bookmarks and you will see 2 of the same bookmark.
2.now go to slashdot.org or any site that rss, click on that for your live
bookmark.   make note of all of your bookmarks.
3.exit firefox .10.1 and restart.  you have nothing there that you saved

Actual Results:  
i kept losing everything thing that i have saved.    have been doing this for
almost 2 hours.

Expected Results:  
saving all of my bookmarks and rss feed, no matter how many times i open and
close the browser

running default theme.

windows xp   512   2 40 gig hard drives  amd 2800

Is this in Boommarks->Manage Bookmarks (the bookmark manager) ?

the answer to you question is as follows:

i loose any and all book marks that i have saved.  i
have tried to save them under both of the following




bookmarks.... bookmark this page

bookmarks... bookmarks tool box folder.

the same is true when i try to add a live bookmark.

then i close firefox, totaly, and get back in, click,
bookmarks, and they only thing i see is

bookmark this page

manage book marks   (this is empty)

bookmarks tool bar folder.  (this is empty)


i hope i am a little clearer on this.

i do not sp2 installed.

I did not have the same difficulty adding a live bookmark as the original poster
(although the process was a little confusing), however, all the live bookmarks I
had added had disappeared after I restarted Firefox. [Firefox 1.0 on both Mac OS
X 10.3.8 and Windows XP SP 2.] Live bookmarks were in bookmarks toolbar folder.
