I could have sworn I just saw this bug, but I can't find it now so I'll enter it.
If you enter an incorrect password the first time you log into a POP server,
then enter the correct password, the status bar just spins and spins with the
status message "Host contacted, sending login information..." and never
completes. From that point forward you cannot download any messages from the server.
Fix in hand. Need review before checking in...

Tried a few scenarios:
1. Cancel first login dialog, OK alert, try login again
2. Type incorrect password, OK alert, give proper password 2nd login.
3. Type incorrect password twice, third time proper password.
OK using 2000-02-04-10m14 commercial build on NT 4.0
Can't verify on linux because bug #26283 is getting in the way.
Still not working using 2000-02-04-10m14 commercial build on Mac OS 9.0.

Verified that this is now OK on linux using 2000-02-09-08m14 commercial build.
So this problem is now Mac only.

Sounds like this may have something to do with the events handling on Mac or
dialog kind of problem.

This should be okay now.
