I wish I could read conversations just by running the mouse scroller, without
need to click or to select the next message.

Scrolling a message would make Thunderbird automatically display/download (for
IMAP servers) the next (or the previous) message of the thread, depending on how
messages are sorted or threaded.

Hence, it would give the effect of reading an entire conversation at one glance
comparable to Gmail conversation threads.

Dupe of bug 241197, I think.

Yes it seems to be, except for IMAP considerations.

With IMAP servers, Thunderbird would download only the dislpayed part of
the messages, i.e. in "just-in-time" while scrolling. Hidding the quoted parts
would be a good idea (like in Gmail). :-)

May this bug could be fixed with the Mouses Gestures extensions
http://optimoz.mozdev.org/gestures ?

Should it be deleted or merge with bug 241197, adding the IMAP features
consideration plus ?
