I first saw the issue with RC1, and it continues through the current nightly.
It's reproducable always, but only happens whenever Firefox has been Minimized
for a long period of time. (at least 1 hr) When the window is re-opened, the
chevron shows INSTEAD of the links for the Bookmark Toolbar, regardless of
window size. It stays that way until the window is resized. Still happens with
yesterday's nightly and a new profile. I've read different Bookmark Toolbar bugs
for nearly an hour and can't find one that matches this problem exactly, but
quite a few that may be related, such as 178120 and 252798.
I'll attach an image to show the bug in action.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Customize toolbars placing Menu, Address Bar, Search, and Throbber on top
line, Navigation buttons and Toolbar Bookmarks on second line. Disable
"Bookmarks Toolbar" by right-clicking top toolbar.
2. Add some bookmarks to the toolbar.
3. Minimize firefox and wait "a while". (> 1 hour or so)
4. Restore window from minimize.
Actual Results:
Toolbar bookmarks are gone, replaced by a chevron, even though the window is
more than large enough to show the bookmarks.
Expected Results:
Show the bookmarks and no chevron.
This problem occurs using the default theme.

Unable to reproduce. Is it specific to the bookmarks in your toolbar folder?
(Try setting another folder as the toolbar folder, on the Edit menu in the
Bookmarks Manager.) Is is specific to your profile? (Try creating a new profile,
both with your old bookmarks.html copied over, and with a fresh set of bookmarks.)

I mentioned in the first comment that this problem occurs with a new profile. I
have only tried it with a new, default profile and then adding a few random
bookmarks to the folder. I have now tried changing the folder assigned to be the
bookmark toolbar, but I doubt that will make a difference. The key here is that
if you just minimize and wait a few minutes nothing happens... It only happens
upon restoration from being minimized for a long time. I'll let you know the
results of the additional steps you suggested, as soon as I know.

Phil, I tried all 3 of these. It took quite a while to do, since it can
sometimes take several hours to reproduce the problem, and even then doesn't
happen every single time. None of the things you asked me to do seemed to make
any difference, although I have learned that it's hard to consistently duplicate
the issue:
I can't guarantee that waiting 1 hour is long enough, if you're trying to
reproduce the problem. The best way to reproduce it would probably be to wait
overnight.
Meanwhile, I will do my best to learn more about what is causing this bug and
what affects it. Having upgraded to 1.0 when it was released didn't seem to make
a difference, either, by the way.
