The toggle F8 neither brings the message view pane ON, nor takes the message
view pane OFF

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press F8

Actual Results:  
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:  
The message view panel should toggle between being ON and being OFF

Which version of TB are you running?

This WFM with version 0.9+ (20041112), Win2K.

My version of Thunderbird is
version 0.9 (20041103)

PROBLEM SOLVED

A long-forgotten keyboard macro was intercepting my F8 key....

I found it because I installed the same version on another Win98se machine, and
F8 was working.
