User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 About 3 days ago TB stopped moving flagged junk mail into the Junk folder. Messages are correctly flagged as junk but remain in the inbox. If I "Run junk mail controls on folder" manually, with flagged junk mail still in the inbox, TB moves the junk to the proper folder. I subscribe to many lists and have several dozen non-junk message filters defined. All these filters are still operating correctly and messages are moved into the correct folders. AFAICT I haven't changed anything. I've tried disabling and re-enabling the junk mail controls and temporarily setting the destination to a different folder, with no effect. At this point I'm looking for suggestions on where to look and what to do to gather more information. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: .
What does Junk filter log say on unmoved mails? What does Message filter log say on unmoved mails? If you use Global Inbox, you should check both of Junk filter log of deffered account((Global Inboxed, Local Folders if default is used on account definition) and Junk filter log of the deffering account. This is also applicable to Message filter log. By the way, al least Thunderbird version(build ID) *HAVE TO BE* written when Bug is opened. (Bugzilla can not know what is your mailer. Bugzilla can know Browser version only.) And write down of your Junk Mail Control settings is recommended for ease of problem analysis by developers.
Additonal question. Did you restart Thunderbird after problem started to occur? Or you kept Thunderbird up?
Sorry about omitting the build number. It is version 0.9 (20041103). Junk Mail Control Settings are shown in the attached screen shot. I restarted TB and also tried rebooting (standard response to problems on Micro$quish systems :-) I do not use a global inbox. Each account stores its incoming mail in its own inbox. Also, I do not have the message filter log turned on, only the junk log. However, I have enabled the message filter log and if I see anything interesting I will add it. Here are some junklog entries for messages that were NOT moved: Detected junk message from "Ronnie Bond" <Paulbudj@telia.com> - price comparison . Office XP Professional at 2004-11-29 15:53:03 Move message id = s6.SI2V51U4313Q832g1z2S84LU346E5W7BMA@qwest.net to mailbox://garrison%40athensgroup.com@mta.algx.net/Junk Detected junk message from "US_HealthCare" <Hodgson@golfshore.com> - Affordable_Nationwide_Healthcare at 2004-11-29 16:15:04 Move message id = 17853224@wodajncmkplZ-fdc to mailbox://garrison%40athensgroup.com@mta.algx.net/Junk Here's a Junklog entry for one that was moved this morning (see additiona information below): Detected junk message from "Vance Barron" <v.barron_qs@hotmail.com> - Pain medication...Klonopin at 2004-11-30 12:57:18 Move message id = s3.AKHODJLOAGIDFLLKNJDBHLLICIAA.v.barron_qs@hotmail.com to mailbox://garrison%40athensgroup.com@mta.algx.net/Junk ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: When starting up TB in the morning, I usually have 50-60 junk emails waiting for me on the pop server. When these are downloaded, they are flagged AND MOVED TO THE JUNK FOLDER. I have the account configured to fetch from the POP server every 3 minutes, and only on those subsequent fetches are messages not moved.
Seems to be fixed in version 1.0RC1RC1(20041130) ... [yep, RC1RC1 is what's in the About... box ] but then it was working when I first installed 0.9. I'm marking this bug WORKSFORME, and will reopen it if the problem recurs. Thanks for the help.

(In reply to comment #3) > I have the account configured to fetch from the POP server every 3 minutes, > and only on those subsequent fetches are messages not moved. "every 3 minutes" is too often for usul POP3 server, I think. My provider requests users to set five or more minutes if possible, although can not inhibit too frequent mail check. And this possibly causes "contention". "3 minutes" seems to be not always sufficient to complete all of activities - downloading, message filtering and mail move and junk filtering and mail move, especially when multiple POP3 accounts are active at same time, although mail client should handle such error situations properly. Anyway, congraturatons, Jim Garrison.
hmm, I ping my pop3 server every minute :-) you never know when a money making offer might arrive - anyway, glad it seems to be working for you, Jim.
(In reply to comment #8) > you never know when a money making offer might arrive No problem for me. 99.9999% of "money making offer" mails to me are spam from United States, probably from Miami :-)
