Overview Description: If you go to an ftp site, the title of the page will not change from the originating page. This causes a couple other semi-bad things to happen. First, the title shows up wrong in the windows task bar, and second, the site shows up wrong under the Go menu. So if you traverse thru an ftp directory you will see AOL.COM or wherever a bunch of times in Go menu. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Goto a url such as http://www.aol.com 2) Goto an ftp site such as ftp://ftp.mozilla.org 3) Begin traversing thru the ftp site Actual Results: You will see that the title of the page at the top and in the task bar will say AOL.COM. You will also see AOL.COM a bunch of times in your Go menu Expected Results: The title of the page should say "Directory of ..." and then wherever you are in your traversing. This is on all platforms 2/9 builds. Jud, I don't know who should get this, probably not you :-)
This is on file:/// URL's also :-)
This happens on all pages, that don't have a title set. Try viewing a page, that has a title, then view one that doesn't. I guess this is why ftp sites don't change the title either: simply becuase the title tags aren't found.
