Build 2000-02-10-08M14: Mac 8.5.1 

Overview: As stated in bug# 24832 - On the Mac for the 
Tasks > Update Notifications menu item there is an arrow indicating a submenu 
exists yet no submenu appears. 

Is it possible to disable this menu item on the Mac and not on Windows or Linux? 
Marking Beta1 because all menu items that are not working should be disabled.

Chris, I don't think this is an Apps bug since the code is the same on each
platform.  My guess is that it's yet another menu management bug from Hell.
Re-assign back to me if I'm wrong.

Don, is the problem that the menu doesn't disable only on the Mac, or that someone needs to go make the menu disabled in the content model?

It would be exceedingly difficult to automatically disable a submenu parent item before the submenu is displayed given the dynamic menu creation. 

Giving it back to you Gramps so it gets on your radar.

nbaca, is this still an issue? i no longer see Update Notifications in the Tasks
menu (or elsewhere, unless it moved to some place am missing). tested with
today's optimized bits 2000.03.28.xx, both netscape6 and mozilla.

if this item has been abandoned for good, do mark as wfm or invalid...
