When the "get mail" button is clicked, Thunderbird retrieves all the mails
unless it finds an empty mail (empty body, empty subject and empty sender (yes
it exists)). In this case the other mails after this one are left on the server
and when you click again on "get mail" it says "This folder is being processed.
Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." and it loops
indefinitely.

Sounds previous downloading is still in progress(downloading hangs).

Protocol log is usually reuired for analysis by developer of problem relates to
server/client communication.
Get POP3 protocol log and attach protocol log to this bug(do not paste large data.)

protocol log.
Do not forget to change "protocol:5" to "POP3:5" when POP3, or "IMAP:5" when IMAP.
Please note that log file is overlayed on restart.
