Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041111 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041111 Firefox/1.0

The Address Book component can't import correctly all fields from contacts I
exported from Outlook, which contain Polish specific characters. It happens
irrespective of which character encoding I use for the data file (cp1250 -
default, iso8859-2 or utf8)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open import dialog box in Address Book
2.Select the file

Actual Results:
1.View strange characters in the field selection box
2.View the same characters in my new address book

Expected Results:
Try to recognise the encoding automatically
or better
ask the user for encoding type used in the file
Summary: improper recognition of non ASCII characters when importing contact list → improper recognition of non ASCII characters when importing contact list from Outlook
