RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 180997

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050220
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050220

Images inserted into the message body via Insert / Image are not attached
(included) when the message format is "Auto Detect".

When chosing manually "Rich Text (HTML)", the images are included correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Open composer and write a mail to any address (e.g. to yourself :-))
1. Select Options / Format / Auto Detect
2. Choose Insert / Image and select any image file. You'll see the image in the
message body area.
3. Send the message.
4. Look into the "Sent" folder (or check the received message if you've sent it
to yourself).

Actual Results:
There's no attached in the sent message (neither in the HTML part nor as a
separate attachment).

Expected Results:
The image should be included in the message.
Composer is for the HTML Editor, not for composing messages.

See also Bug 263463 comment 1 for a workaround (problem is someone of the
receivers does not prefer HTML).
