Bug 276515 Installer quickly and silently crashes on an old Windows NT 4.0 box comments in that bug show problems of 7-zip with 200 MHz WinChip-CPU or K6-II %00 MHz. What type of CPU are you using? mainstream Intel P3, P4 or AMD Athlon? Or something special like AMD Athlon 64, Geode or VIA CPUs, or a special Intel CPU? You also can install Thunderbird using the zip package, thats been the solution of that other bug. http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/1.0/win32/ and select your language.

I have found the same problem for Firefox 1.0.1
(In reply to comment #2) > I have found the same problem for Firefox 1.0.1 Can you give some more info please, like amount of RAM installed, maybe amount of RAM free, type of CPU?

Hi Sorry about the late reply, this has it's own query string: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285283 I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 Pentium 4 2.40 GHz 256 MB Ram 80 GB HDD 53.5 GB Free
Any suggestions?
I've heard that this is an intermittent problem - i.e., you can redownload the same exe multiple times, and sometimes you get one that's OK. I'm not sure if there's some occasinal corruption going on at the server, or if the user was getting different mirrors each time. The browser was IE, so the problem is not on the client-side...
Please read my bug description (Comment #15) for Firefox bug #276515. In both cases, setup.exe seems to be broken.
(In reply to comment #7) > Please read my bug description > (Comment #15) for Firefox bug #276515. > In both cases, setup.exe seems to > be broken. > Max, simply write bug 276515 comment 15 in this order to get a link to comment 15 of that bug. Scott, from time to time 7zip gets updates, which version is used by TBird? The oldest stable, or the newest beta? http://www.7-zip.org/ http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=114481&group_id=14481&func=browse
Same exact error occuring with Mozilla 1.0.4 download 5/14/05
