Hello,

I created Kimba Kano myself and with much assistance.

The Kimba Kano website does send all search requests through our website
kimbakano.com, but this does not make Kimba Kano spyware.

The Kimba Kano system takes search strings and converts them into a query
string that the chosen information database can interpret. These conversions
are housed on our website to allow us to fix any bugs or make any necessary
changes that may arise. This is an automated process.

In the past, the scripts were housed in the software, with new updates required
to be downloaded to update the system. We found hosting those files online to
be much more user friendly.

Kimba Kano DOES NOT creep around on your computer and DOES NOT spy on you.

Kimba Kano is also hosted on CNet’s download.com which screens and tests all
software for spyware, scumware and viruses. Kimba Kano meets and exceeds
CNet’s standards.

Kimba Kano is not spyware.

I agree that Kimba Kano is not spyware. However, by submitting all of this
information via the internet through your servers, the Firefox community can be
put at risk even if your servers are secured.

Now that UMO is back in order and its possible to update your extension, would
it be possible to move that functionality back into the extension and not on
your servers?
Added note in editor's review with reference to this bug.

If you want to route the searches through your server then you should provide at
least a basic privacy policy, which I was unable to find on your site.
This extension is now no longer functioning because the site is down.
