fi-FI ready for staging. win32 exe: http://mozilla.lucid.fi/thunderbird/thunderbird-1.0.2.fi-FI.win32-installer.exe No other packages coming ATM
I did some Mac packaging for localization teams who asked me for my help. I used the locale files of the TB1.0 builds that are staged in /thunderbird/releases/1.0/, so there should be no issues concerning changes. Using http://wiki.mozilla.org/MozillaQualityAssurance:l10n_checklist#For_Thunderbird as guideline, I did a quick check on all the builds, no problems found. I hope, though, that the locale owners sign off these builds on their own again. Here are the links to the builds: ca-AD: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ca-AD/thunderbird-1.0.2.ca-AD.mac.dmg es-AR: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/es-AR/thunderbird-1.0.2.es-AR.mac.dmg fi-FI: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/fi-FI/thunderbird-1.0.2.fi-FI.mac.dmg hu-HU: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/hu-HU/thunderbird-1.0.2.hu-HU.mac.dmg ru-RU: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ru-RU/thunderbird-1.0.2.ru-RU.mac.dmg I GPG-signed all builds, the .asc files are located in the same directories as the builds: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ca-AD/thunderbird-1.0.2.ca-AD.mac.dmg.asc http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/es-AR/thunderbird-1.0.2.es-AR.mac.dmg.asc http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/fi-FI/thunderbird-1.0.2.fi-FI.mac.dmg.asc http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/hu-HU/thunderbird-1.0.2.hu-HU.mac.dmg.asc http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ru-RU/thunderbird-1.0.2.ru-RU.mac.dmg.asc the key can be found on the keyserver of your least distrust or in this file: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/KEY Greetings . . . ja-JP ready for staging Each build is checked by plural QA testers and no regression found. win installer: http://ftp.mozilla-japan.org/pub/mozilla-japan/thunderbird/development/1.0.2/thunderbird-1.0.2-20050317.ja-JP.win32.installer-0.6.10.1.fix.exe # in this build, setuprsc.dll and UninstallFirefox.exe is modefied as is always # see bug 266309 win zip package: http://ftp.mozilla-japan.org/pub/mozilla-japan/thunderbird/development/1.0.2/thunderbird-1.0.2-20050317.ja-JP.win32-0.6.10.1.fix.zip linux tar.gz package: http://ftp.mozilla-japan.org/pub/mozilla-japan/thunderbird/development/1.0.2/thunderbird-1.0.2-20050317.ja-JP.linux-i686-0.6.10.1.fix1.tar.gz mac dmp image: http://ftp.mozilla-japan.org/pub/mozilla-japan/thunderbird/development/1.0.2/thunderbird-1.0.2-20050317.ja-JPM.mac-0.6.10.1.dmg note about our builds: As I noticed/asked in newsgroup twice (thread 'plan for 1.0.2 releases'), Thunderbird 1.0.2 en-US language resouce have some update after 1.0 release. It includes copyright descriptions' change (from '1998-2004' to '1998-2005') and I think we should not ignore this since they are very important thing. So, these our builds use langpack including update same as en-US. # No typo fix nor translation improvement is included as your request. I believe you agree about including same update as en-US, but if you anyway require us using completely same langpack as 1.0, we have already prepared and tested them too. question: Is langpack xpi package needed? If needed, I'll prepare and we test it within a day.
pl-PL ready for staging. Win32 exe: http://beta.aviary.pl/thunderbird/Thunderbird%20Setup%201.0.2.exe MacOS X: http://beta.aviary.pl/thunderbird/thunderbird-1.0.2.pl-PL.mac.dmg Linux tar.gz: http://beta.aviary.pl/thunderbird/thunderbird-pl-PL-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz I'm doing it on behalf of pl-PL Thunderbird owner, because he's offline for 3 days. I'm a head of AviaryPL team.
I have another round of Mac packages ready. Here are the links to the builds: it-IT: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/it-IT/thunderbird-1.0.2.it-IT.mac.dmg pa-IN: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/pa-IN/thunderbird-1.0.2.pa-IN.mac.dmg Note: pa-IN did not have a Mac package for 1.0, but I used the xpi located in the 1.0 directory to wrap up this build. My system lacked some fonts, so I saw lots of ??? during testing, but it should work ok on a system with the proper fonts installed. I GnuPG-signed all builds, the .asc files are located in the same directories as the builds: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/it-IT/thunderbird-1.0.2.it-IT.mac.dmg.asc http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/pa-IN/thunderbird-1.0.2.pa-IN.mac.dmg.asc the key can be found on the keyserver of your least distrust or in this file: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/KEY Checksums for all my builds are here: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/MD5SUMS http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/SHA1SUMS Greetings . . . For gu-IN I used those of the Linux build, as gu-IN did not have a Mac build for 1.0. P.S.: When are the localized builds staged? Some news sites, e.g. the German Winfuture ( http://www.winfuture.de/news,19607.html ) started linking to the builds posted here already. I personally disapprove this, but our experiences with Winfuture et al show that there is (unfortunately) no way to stop them doing this. (I hope simcard reads this.)

update regarding de-DE: it was necessary that we restricted access to the files, so from now on only a small number of hostmasks, including mozilla.org and meer.net, are allowed to retrieve the de-DE files. In case a mozilla.org QA person has problems accessing the de-DE files, just comment here, mail me or ping me in IRC with the hostmask needed and I will grant access ASAP. Thanks to simcard of WinFuture for making this necessary! We apologize for all the inconvenience.
tested tbird 1.0.2 candidates (thus far) on linux fedora core 3. these locales passed: es-AR ja-JP however, the following locales failed, because they still say "1998-2004" (instead of 1998-2005) in the About box. this had been fixed in bug 283122. de-DE el-GR fr-FR pa-IN pl-PL tr-TR
I've tested some of the Mac OS X (10.3.8) bits. the only one that passed was ja-JP, but shouldn't this be built as ja-JPM? encountered the same failure with the copyright date in About in the following: tr-TR ru-RU pl-PL pa-IN: same problem. also note: menu items and window titles display in punjabi, but all other strings are just ???'s --is this expected (ie, I might not have the complete font set for my mac), or is it a bug with this particular locale? it-IT hu-HU gu-IN: gujarati has same issues as punjabi with fonts.
these Mac OS X locales also had the same problem with the incorrect copyright date (but are otherwise okay): fr-FR fi-FI es-AR ca-AD
I updated the copyright dates of the following builds: ca-AD (Mac) http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ca-AD/thunderbird-1.0.2.ca-AD.mac.dmg http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ca-AD/thunderbird-1.0.2.ca-AD.mac.dmg.asc de-DE http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/de-DE/thunderbird-1.0.2.de-DE.linux-i686.tar.gz http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/de-DE/thunderbird-1.0.2.de-DE.linux-i686.tar.gz.asc http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/de-DE/thunderbird-1.0.2.de-DE.mac.dmg http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/de-DE/thunderbird-1.0.2.de-DE.mac.dmg.asc The following Mac builds are still uploading: es-AR fi-FI gu-IN hu-HU it-IT pa-IN pl-PL ru-RU tr-TR they show up in the top directory first (http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ ) and are then moved to the apropriate subfolder. Next time when Asa says "In order to accept your localization, we will need to hear from you that you didn't change anything in the build.", he should add "But make shure the copyright dates get updated, otherwise the builds will be rejected." This did cost me several hours of rare sleep.
the de-DE build has one issue I noticed - if you go offline, the dialog box is cut off so you can see only 1/4 of the last button. Also, the copyright date needs to be adjusted, but looks as if Martin took care of that.
(In reply to comment #29) > the de-DE build has one issue I noticed - if you go offline, the dialog box is > cut off so you can see only 1/4 of the last button. > > Also, the copyright date needs to be adjusted, but looks as if Martin took care > of that. I see a similar problem with the offline dialog in the FR build. Also, when Thunderbird launched on the dialog boxes was cut off on the Mac.
On the Mac, the fr-FR build has an additional option for Movemail in the first account setup screen (usually there is just email account, RSS, and newsgroup accounts). Is this supposed to be there?
(In reply to comment #29) > the de-DE build has one issue I noticed - if you go offline, the dialog box is > cut off so you can see only 1/4 of the last button. As stated before, we were not allowed to do any changes. This bug obviously passed QA for 1.0 already. Is this blocking de-DE Mac? There are also the following builds uploaded now: es-AR: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/es-AR/thunderbird-1.0.2.es-AR.mac.dmg http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/es-AR/thunderbird-1.0.2.es-AR.mac.dmg.asc fi-FI: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/fi-FI/thunderbird-1.0.2.fi-FI.mac.dmg http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/fi-FI/thunderbird-1.0.2.fi-FI.mac.dmg.asc gu-IN: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/gu-IN/thunderbird-1.0.2.gu-IN.mac.dmg http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/gu-IN/thunderbird-1.0.2.gu-IN.mac.dmg.asc for the rest please go directly to: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/ as soon as both, .dmg and .dmg.asc are present, the upload is complete. I want to go to bed now, its close to 2am over here.
(In reply to comment #25) > I've tested some of the Mac OS X (10.3.8) bits. the only one that passed was > ja-JP, but shouldn't this be built as ja-JPM? ja-JPM means ja-JP for Mac. Our official builds for Mac OS are always built as ja-JPM. Decision of useing locale name 'ja-JPM' was done by bsmedberg before we start using cvs for Firefox as a workaround for our request to split langpack. See firefox build or thunderbird 1.0 build. # Japanese team prepare different langpack for win/unix and mac since many words # and expressions are diffrent manner/transtation on Mac. To be used by Mac user, # we decided to maintain two langpacks (automatically made by one resource).
I did one more Mac package, this will be the last for TB 1.0.2: cs-CZ: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/cs-CZ/thunderbird-1.0.2.cs-CZ.mac.dmg http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/cs-CZ/thunderbird-1.0.2.cs-CZ.mac.dmg.asc (used 1.0 chrome and fixed the Copyright-date) Greetings . . . Martin
pl-PL: http://beta.aviary.pl/thunderbird We're ready to be shipped (with updated Copyright text)
Here are hu-HU builds again (copyright dates corrected). I did not change the builds. The following files outside chrome were changed in zip archives (just like for Thunderbird 1.0): * rss.rdf ... translated * mailViews.dat ... translated * all-thuderbird.js ... changed useragent.locale and in win32 installer: * mail.xpi/install.js ... changed locale and translated shortcuts * UninstallThunderbird.zip ... translated * 7zSD.sfx ... translated by ResourceHacker Win32 exe: http://mozilla.fsf.hu/installer/thunderbird/1.0.2/thunderbird-1.0.2.hu-HU.win32.installer.exe Mac OS X: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/hu-HU/thunderbird-1.0.2.hu-HU.mac.dmg Linux tar.gz: http://mozilla.fsf.hu/installer/thunderbird/1.0.2/thunderbird-1.0.2.hu-HU.tar.gz
I've updated thunderbird/nightly/aviary1.0.1-l10n-candidates with the latest builds from this bug. The ko-KR build links don't appear to work for me.
I've tested the updated Linux builds located in aviary1.0.1-l10n-candidates/ de-DE: pass fr-FR: pass pl-PL: pass ru-RU: talkback fails to run. talkback and talkback.so files don't have executable bit turned on (readable, but not executable). tr-TR: pass
As seen on the latest round of Windows installers for tbird l10n builds ca-AD, de-DE, fr-FR, hu-HU, pl-PL and ru-RU pass the copywrite correction. pa-IN installer is still a zip build. tr-TR installer crashes clicking next in one of the last dialogs.
the copyright issue is fixed in the following Mac OS X builds --many thanks to those who quickly fixed that problem! ca-AD de-DE es-AR fi-FI fr-FR gu-IN hu-HU it-IT pa-IN pl-PL ru-RU tr-TR in addition, the following two locales passed QA certification on Mac OS X: cs-CZ ja-JPM
I found es-AR and ja-JP/ja-JPM builds are uploaded on the release directory of the FTP. http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/1.0.2/ http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/1.0.2/win32/es-AR/ http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/1.0.2/win32/ja-JP/ # some of the servers have not mirrored yet Can we treat these builds as a official release? They localized build win installer don't have PKI digital signature while en-US build is signed. # and all Firefox 1.0.2 builds are signed. I guess that localized Thunderbird don't have digital signature since they are not made automatically by mozilla.org but made by localization teams. Japanese users are asking about this. Please give us some announce about digital signature of win installer build. # if it's already announced, sorry. # Files are already uploaded and people already downloading. # So we cannot wait long. If no answer come back within a day, # we will treat those builds as a official and update our web # site.
collated from the builds that Tracy and I tested, by platform, these are the ones which should be uploaded to all.html (thanks, Chase!): Windows: ca-AD, de-DE, fr-FR, hu-HU, pl-PL and ru-RU Linux: de-DE, es-AR, fr-FR, ja-JP, pl-PL, tr-TR Mac: ca-AD, cs-CZ, de-DE, es-AR, fi-FI, fr-FR, gu-IN, hu-HU, it-IT, ja-JPM, pa-IN, pl-PL, ru-RU, tr-TR

> + cs.aff/cs.dic ... added Czech dictionary > - en-US.aff/en-US.dic ... removed Whoa. This dictionary is GPL-licensed. Unless there was a decision to allow GPL-licensed dictionaries in mozilla.org releases that I missed, this needs a thorough licensing review.
> Whoa. This dictionary is GPL-licensed. Unless there was a decision to allow > GPL-licensed dictionaries in mozilla.org releases that I missed, this needs a > thorough licensing review. Right, both Czech ispell and myspell dictionary are GPL-licensed. I checked with both authors. The same list of changes was approved by Asa for Czech TB 1.0. Maybe somebody in MoFo should put down a list of things that are allowed and that are required. The situation when right hand dosn't know what the left hand is doing is really annoying.
da-DK(Danish) ready for staging. Win32 exe: http://www.flamber.dk/thunderbird/trans/Thunderbird%201.0.2.exe The package is build on official en-US 1.0.2 and has been tested by eight people with no problems. I'm having huge problems with lang-pack and I don't know how to create Mac/Unix builds, so if anyone can help, then please mail me.
(In reply to comment #56) > The same list of changes was approved by Asa for Czech TB 1.0. Maybe somebody in > MoFo should put down a list of things that are allowed and that are required. Pawell: we apologise for any confusion. Unless someone can come up with a good legal argument why it's OK, I'm afraid we can't have GPLed dictionaries - distributing such a binary would (according to my current understanding) violate the licence on the dictionary. If you are in contact with all the authors of the dictionary, perhaps you could ask that they relicense it under a Mozilla-compatible licence. The BSD licence would be the best choice with the least trouble. Gerv
I've fixed copyright date for it-IT Windows, Linux & LP packages. Download them from http://www.mozillaitalia.org/archive/index.php#p3
Hello, what is the problem of ca-AD for Linux? (In reply to comment #51) > > Linux: de-DE, es-AR, fr-FR, ja-JP, pl-PL, tr-TR
I don't know why (maybe I am just nuts), but I did a Linux package for the da-DK team: http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/da-DK/thunderbird-1.0.2.da-DK.linux-i686.tar.gz http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/da-DK/thunderbird-1.0.2.da-DK.linux-i686.tar.gz.asc (using the same chrome etc. as for the Mac package, I also did a quick test on it, as usual) I am cannot do a language pack though, so you have to find s.o. else for that one.
Is there a problem with hu-HU Linux build? If so, what is it? If not, when will it appear on the ftp server? Some feedback would be highly appreciated. IMO it is not really good for our image to have announced an "important security update" urging people to update Thunderbird two weeks ago on Mozilla Europe frontpages and to be unable to provide this update. Thanks in advance.
Could we please have an update on why there's a bunch of locales which have been signed off, but are not on all.html? If there's a problem, please say so, otherwise it's a bit hard to fix it. Users are starting to complain about why they can't download their version.
es-ES langpack is here from ages ago: http://nave.hispalinux.es/productos/thunderbird/1.0/descargas/thunderbird.1.0.es-ES.langpack.xpi I don't know if it's our taks to build a 1.0.2 or expect somebody from MoFo to build it, in the same way as Firefox.
(In reply to comment #69) > I don't know if it's our taks to build a 1.0.2 or expect somebody from MoFo to > build it, in the same way as Firefox. Actually, the builds create themselfes out of thin air, just like all the others linked to in this bug.
(In reply to comment #48) > As seen on the latest round of Windows installers for tbird l10n builds ...[cut]... > tr-TR installer crashes clicking next in one of the last dialogs. I tested the following builds on the Mac platform: http://www.mozilla.or.kr/download/thunderbird/ko-KR/Thunderbird-1.0.2.dmg - Pass http://www.mozilla.se/paket/thunderbird-1.0.2.sv-SE.mac.dmg - Pass http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/da-DK/thunderbird-1.0.2.da-DK.mac.dmg http://thunderbird.dnsalias.net/downloads/1.0.2/nl-NL/thunderbird-1.0.2.nl-NL.mac.dmg The final two builds, da-DK and nl-NL looked okay except that the password dialog was not sizing properly. You can actually click the button after you enter your password, but it just didn't look that great.
The following Thunderbird 1.0.2 locales also pass on Windows: (from links emailed by MMx) tr-TR, pt-BR, sv-SE, cs-CZ, da-DK, fi-FI
http://www.mozilla.or.kr/download/thunderbird/ko-KR/thunderbird-1.0.2.tar.gz the ko-KR linux installer fails with the following message repeated in the console loading the extension datasource... loading the extension datasource... ru-RU and hu-HU linux locales pass
Okay. More than a month has passed, so I'll ask again: Could we please have an update on what's going on and when to possibly expect l10n TB 1.0.2 releases to appear on all.html?
nb-NO win32 build is tested in comment #75. It has still not been uploaded. http://hmork.mine.nu/mozilla/store/Thunderbird-1.0.2.nb-NO.win32.installer.exe The nb-NO linux and xpi is uploaded, though, which is great. :-)
The thunderbird/all.html is not updating for nl-NL, is this because of the linux build who is missing?
(In reply to comment #79) > nb-NO win32 build is tested in comment #75. Should be fixed now. (In reply to comment #80) > The thunderbird/all.html is not updating for nl-NL, is this because of the linux > build who is missing? Error on my part.. I meant to make nl-NL live, too, in the "big push." The all.html change for that is checked in now.

zh-CNB ready for staging. Win32 exe: http://people.linux.net.cn/holywen/thunderbird/ThunderbirdSetup-1.02-zhCN.exe MacOS X: we are not able to produce mac version yet. Linux tar.gz: http://people.linux.net.cn/holywen/thunderbird/thunderbird-1.02-zhCN.tar.gz
nb-NO mac version is ready for staging. http://firefox.no/Thunderbird_1.0.2_nb-NO.dmg all other nb-NO builds are okay.
I've fixed a BOM bug in win32 es-ES installer, and it's already uploaded. The URL is the mentioned in comment 84, and since I see es-ES hasn't been yet uploaded, this comment is even unnecesary.
Made the following live: * zh-CN win32 and linux * es-ES win32 and linux * nb-NO mac * nl-NL linux
