(Whiteboard: [PDT+] to make Netscape default for beta1; w/m minus on 3/3)
Currently, the browser has nothing preselected for My Sidebar Search panel.
There is often NO pre-selected search engine, and the pre-selected category is
supposed to be the "web".
So with this bug, the user gets an error ("please select search engine") the
first time he does a search from the Sidebar panel. Category should also be set
correctly since the current "All Categories" default confuses users.
low risk, high impact, removes an error message
nominating for beta1

PDT+ if you can make Netscape default for beta1

We need this landed if at all, so I'm adding the annotation that it will become
PDT- on 3/3.
Please update the status whiteboard with a landing date plan.
Thanks,
Jim

this is not working at all with the 2000030709 builds on WinNT. On a new
install, nothing is preselected. Doing a search in the sidebar doesn't prompt me
to select anything and the search just spins on endlessly with no results. (it
doesn't just do a netscape search like it should). REOPENING.

Ben, why is this broken again? Another case of commercial tree packaging
nonsense?

We believe this was the root cause of most of the search horkage today right? I think we've got this under control at the moment
but I'm reopening anyway because it should've have been reopened this morning when the 2000030909 builds failed. Ben, if
you've re-fixed this mark it so and I'll verify when the next opt bits come out.
