User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; vi-VN; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 I register for this project, because there is a team from my country, but they are not on the same way with firefox so far. I am working with the Firefox 1.0+, especially the one for Windows plattform. In soon future, after finishing Windows platform version. I will work on *nix and MAC. Thank You Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
I am so sorry, I forgot to fill these in # the product you want to localize : FIREFOX # the language + country code : vi-VN # your contact details (name + e-mail, web-page if available): Tran Minh Quan <caro.net@gmail.com>, www.vnware.net)
*** Bug 296051 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I have no idea what this is supposed to say. What language, which country? Just shortcuts is hard. What other team? Who are they, what do they do, how do you relate to that team? Note that there is only one source for localisations, with a few platform dependent files, and that we will need a source tree of your l10n attached to this bug for review before we decide anything.
Unofficial Localization Teams: Vietnamese (vi-VN) Thang, Dang Minh Tuan http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/l10n/ ----------------------------------------------- I have no relation with them. I mentioned language and country here "#the language + country code : vi-VN" Language: Vietnamese Country: Vietnam
Attached file Version 0.8.0526
Adjusting summary so we knwo what we are talking about. Have you read our language names document? I think you might only need "vi" as your code, or is that language spoken in other countries which use different variations of it?
Summary: I'm on my way with Firefox 1.0+ → Firefox 1.1 Vietnamese (vi)
The code for language is "vi". And the code for country is "VN". There is only one standard of Vietnamese. So it's right to use only "vi" as my code. Thanx btw, This language is based on complex unicode (Vietnamese is fully supported).
I did attach the JAR file to this bug. Please check it. When will the FF 1.1 preview release?
> When will the FF 1.1 preview release? The first Alpha is out already, but no loclized builds this time - this is considered an early developer-only testing release, so Mozilla Foundation didn't want to do lots of localized "official" builds for it, though the localized nightly builds are pretty much what such build would look like...
We already have a registration bug for Vietnamese localization for Firefox - see bug 282234. Since there can be only one Vietnamese l10n team you should contact Cong Chinh Nguyen if he is still interested in Firefox localization.

If one l10n only does for Wins, another for MAC and *nix, How about it?

Please make sure that you understand the architecture of Mozilla, there is no such thing as a windows or unix or mac localisation. It's always a nice thing to invite other people to share the workload. And please attach your localisation in the CVS source structure. Plus, have a look at http://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Firefox_Extras for stuff that goes along, too.
Attachment #184919 - Attachment filename: vi-VN.jar
I have taken a look at the architecture of Mozilla, I misunderstood the folder MAC and UNIX. Now I understand. Thanx. I will upload CVS source structure attached my l10n at the end of next week. Now I am preparing for my coming exams. Thanx
Thanks, and good luck and success with the exams.
Could we get a status update on this locale? We're going to branch for 1.1 late next week and would like to land new locales by then. Thanks
I am waiting for the v1.1 Then I will change the v1.0 in order to suit with the locale for v1.1 Is it ok? Thanx
We would prefer to have a translation in CVS. I cannot give any estimate on whether we are going to take translations for 1.1 after it has been released. You should be pretty safe wrt string changes now, I don't expect that we take a whole lot of those in the remaining week, and we're going to put up a pretty high barrier to string changes after the branching.
Bug 328554 is yet another request for Indonesian localization.
I am still with this localization but I can't contact the one other vietnamese who also registered but I think he did stop his project. These two weeks I have my mid-term so I will be back in 2 weeks with my localization for v1.5 Thanks to all
Summary: Firefox 1.1 Vietnamese (vi) → Firefox 1.5 Vietnamese (vi)
Summary: Firefox 1.5 Vietnamese (vi) → [vi-VN] Vietnamese: Firefox
On behalf of the Mozilla Project, I'd like to apologise for the delay in processing this request. We very much appreciate offers of help in localization. If anyone reading this is still interested in helping to translate one or more Mozilla products into the language that this bug is about, please add a new comment to this bug to confirm your interest, saying again which products you would like to localize e.g., Firefox, Thunderbird. We will then make the necessary arrangements.
No response after a month; closing the bug as INCOMPLETE. If anyone reading this is interested in localising Mozilla products into this language, we'd love to hear from you! Please file a new bug about it. Thanks, Gerv
