Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050531 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050531 Firefox/1.0+ I have bumped my MaxVersion for the extension "Open link in..." to 1.0+ (for use in Deer Park Alpha 1) via the update.mozilla.org form in the Developer Control Panel, but I have not actually resubmitted an XPI to u.m.o, so their existing one (Open link in... 1.3) still has an old install.rdf file which says that MaxVersion is 1.0. It says on http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/extensions/update.html (under the heading 'What does all this mean?' at the bottom) that "you do not need to release an updated XPI with an ammended install.rdf file as long as you keep the remote metadata up to date", and that when one installs the XPI "and Firefox deems it incompatible based on the information in the install.rdf file, Firefox will check with the update service/RDF at that time to determine whether or not it really is compatible." U.m.o has honoured my metadata change and now lists my extension as being compatible with 1.0+. However, when I try to install the extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=379), Deer Park downloads the xpi, opens the Extension Manager but brings up a dialog saying "Open link in... 1.3 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Deer Park 1.0+. (Open link in... 1.3 will only work with Deer Park versions from 0.9 to 1.0)." Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Expected Results: Extension should have installed fine, according to the specs at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/extensions/update.html
It installed fine for me with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050604 Firefox/1.0+ ID:2005060409
This is a dup of one of our existing bugs, fixed post-1.1a1.
