Can you elaborate some on how this device works -- is there something that is
supposed to work like a wheel on a desktop mouse? How are you trying to scroll?

It is a three button device. When the third button is depressed the stick
functions as a mouse wheel allowing scrolling up/down as well as left/right.
Have tried scrolling in Mozilla over the browser window as well as over the
scroll bars to no avail. Have only gotten it to work in Mozilla with a text box
or selection box with its own scroll bars.

Hm, this sounds like the problem where the mouse driver only concerns itself
with native scrollbars and does not give the app any message notification of the
scroll (See bugs 20618, 22794, 25708). I'm going to go ahead and mark this one
a dup; feel free to CC yourself on any of those other bugs and if you see that
it's been fixed, and your mouse is still not working, go ahead and reopen this
bug.
