I would like to be able to select a number of events in the events bar and edit
common properties. For example, I would like to be able to change the catagory
of multiple events at once.

Currently the "Edit Selected Event.." menu item is grayed.

I see the use case for this, but I think the UI should be limited. Adding a context menu item to change the category could solve this for your specific example. A "change multiple properties" dialog will always look cluttered to my mind. If you have a UI proposal, feel free to attach a screenshot.

Christian, whats your opinion on this?

The context menu (1) should also work for multiple selected events.
