User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050721 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050721 Firefox/1.0+ "Copernic Agent Basic" is a very useful tool for searching the internet. It combines results from various search engines and sorts them automatically for you. This tool right now only works in Internet Explorer. This bug is to request support for this tool and keep track if any progress is made to supporting it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install "Copernic Agent Basic" on your PC. 2. Open Firefox. 3. Note lack of functionality. Actual Results: Tool not available. Expected Results: Tool should be available. See website and try it on IE for yourself. A very useful tool, and one I still have to go back to IE for.

Shouldn't you ask that to Copernic. They have to implement the support for Firefox., not the other way around. If they have specific requirements, they can ask for it ofcourse. PS : they claim that Netscape 6 works, so it won't be too difficult.

No. Firefox needs to add the Copernic toolbar in place of its search bar. Also: Today: http://www.mozillazine.org/: "Copernic developers are making sure that no distinction is made among IE and Firefox users".
FYI, this works with the old Netscape browsers and Opera as well as IE. I think this bug should be reopened and reconsidered now with all the other search work going on in Firefox. http://www.copernic.com/en/products/agent/specs.html "Possibility of configuring Internet Explorer 4x (or later), Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.x or 6.x or Opera browser, the system default browser or another compatible browser as the Copernic Agent default browser." "Browser required: Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later, Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.x or 6.x."

What is this bug asking Firefox developers to do, specifically? What does "support Copernic Agent Basic tool" mean?
Add the hooks into a Firefox toolbar similar to what is available for IE or Opera. This could be in addition to or in place of the current search.
What does "add the hooks" mean? If there are concrete proposals for things that should be done, then file specific bugs. The Copernic people can write an extension that adds their own search bar if they want to.

I guess the "Desktop Search" does support Firefox, but the agent does not: Copernic Desktop Search Is First to Fully Support Mozilla Firefox Browser http://www.copernic.com/en/company/press/press-releases/press_69.html
