User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Thunderbird 1.1a2 After installing TB 1.1a2, various RSS feeds (not the items!) appear more than once in the RSS subscription manager. My impression is that RSS feeds that I deleted and re-added in TB 1.0 now appear as many times as I added them in the 1.0 release. The bad thing is that those that appear duplicated cannot be edited, therefore setting the severity to Major. Feel free to change it if necessary. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In TB 1.0x add some RSS feeds. 2. In TB 1.0x remove some RSS feeds. 3. In TB 1.0x re-add some of the RSS feeds removed in step 2. 4. Close TB 1.0x. 5. Install TB 1.1a2 and start it up. 6. Open the RSS subscription manager. Actual Results: Some RSS feeds appear more than once in the list in TB 1.1a2, but not in TB 1.06. Feeds that were deleted more than once and added more than once, appear more than twice in the RSS subscription manager (at least this is what it looks like). Expected Results: All RSS feeds should only be shown once and all RSS feeds should be editable.
Are you still seeing this in the latest builds? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-trunk/
I've encountered a somewhat similar situation, but I cannot reliably duplicate it: With a 1.6a1 build (I think it was 0830), I added a Craig's List feed. Subsequently, I created a subfolder of the "craig's list" folder; then I entered the Manage Subscriptions dialog and dragged the feed from one folder to another. It appeared to work. (I *think* I did this with 1.6a1-0904, but it might have been with 1.5a1-0904 instead.) However, the next time I started TB, the new items from that feed appeared in the original Craig's folder, not the subfolder. On opening Manage Subscriptions, the feed is listed in both folders. Two attachments coming up.
This image shows how the feeds are displayed in the Manage Subscriptions dialog.

This is the feeds.rdf file that was in place when that screenshot was taken.
(In reply to comment #1) > Are you still seeing this in the latest builds? > http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-trunk/ Yes, I still see this in version 1.6a1 (20050907). It is not just duplicated, is appears to be there as many time as I added the feed (removed and added, removed and added). It even remembers the feed address from each of them. For instance, a news feed appears four times: two have an old feed address, two have the new feed address. MozillaZine appears twice, others appear between two and four times. I make this a blocking? issue, because I guess many people will encounter this annoying problem.

Oh, almost forgotten: none of the duplicated/multiplicated feeds can be edited!
not a b2 stopper

(In reply to comment #7) > not a b2 stopper Scott, as you wish, but I assume that anyone that added, deleted and re-added a feed in 1.0.x will get this annoying problem in 1.5. Today I tried 1.5 beta 2 and it allowed me to remove some feeds. However, after closing and re-opening the subscription manager, empty RSS feeds appeared, i.e. ones without title and the one I kept could not be edited anymore, nor deleted. In a previous nightly build TB also messed up completely and I couldn't get the RSS feeds to work at all anymore. Since I knew it was a beta, I previously made a full backup of my profile to recover everything, but when this bug gets into the official 1.5 release we will get many angry users. Unless, of course, this cannot be reproduced. Has anyone reproduced this?

Yes, reproduced / my bug marked duplicate. I will move to Forumzilla because of this bug.
No fix, not blocking a 1.0x security release

This still occurs on 1.5 (20051025). Adding a new feed (same URL) creates a third entry, which can't be deleted either. When I edit the feeds, the "Store articles in" is blank.
This is still happening in the new 1.5 (20051201) When i delete an item, it asks me then does nothing. Additionally, when viewing a subscription, it wont show the folder its storing them in.

Shall I close this bug? It was a migration issue from 1.0 to 1.1 and 1.5 and it is very hard to test it now.
(In reply to comment #15) > Shall I close this bug? It was a migration issue from 1.0 to 1.1 and 1.5 and > it is very hard to test it now. Of course not. As per comment 14, this is still an issue in 1.5. (In reply to comment #14) > This is still happening in the new 1.5 (20051201) > > When i delete an item, it asks me then does nothing. I have the same issue.

Just so you know, I (from comment #14) haven't seen this since moving to 2.0.
TB 2.0 is in ubuntu gutsy. I will report back once it eventually trickles down to my machine. I am still on edgy but intent to upgrade to feisty. It trust this is fixed in 2.0 but ask to please leave this bug open for me to confirm.
(In reply to comment #17) > Just so you know, I (from comment #14) haven't seen this since moving to 2.0. > I can confirm this bug in TB 2.0.0.9 - the deleted feeds are still displayed in the RSS manager and cannot be edited.
See bug 375745, which is now fixed on trunk and I guess will be in the next TB 2.0.x build as well. Not quite sure if this is a dupe, but people who've been bothered by this bug should check with a nightly to see if they can still reproduce it.
I am on TB 2.0.0.12 now and it looks fixed to me. Thanks, guys!
->WFM then (though partly this is a dupe)
