The "Reload Tab" contextmenu item isn't disabled when the reload button / reload menu item is disabled. STR: 1. Open about:blank 2. right click the current tab while you're rolling your eyes over the reload toolbar button.

This is another one of those toolkit->browser dependency things that makes me want to move tabbrowser to /browser/

Hardware Platform: PC Operating System: Windows XP SP2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060123 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Reproducibility: Always. Summary: Bug could be reproduced on the latest available build. Reproduction Steps: Open a new tab and type “about:blank” into the address bar. Now right click on the tab. Notice that the ability to reload the tab is available, yet the reload button on the toolbar is disabled. When the reload page option is selected the page does reload as expected. Actual Results: Reload page option is available in the context menu when not available on the toolbar. Expected Results: The toolbar and right click context menu should be consistent and both be enabled or disabled.

It's mostly the same as the issue reported in this bug.
Summary: "Reload Tab" contextmenu item isn't disabled when the reload button (or, view menu item) is disabled → "Reload Tab"/"Reload All Tabs" contextmenu item isn't disabled when the reload button (or, view menu item) is disabled

note that the logic for "reload all tabs" is more complicated as it requires checking the reloadability of the other tabs as well.

While this is a valid bug, it is not worth our time to fix it. If a user hits the "Reload Tab" while they are on about:blank, there will be no data loss and no harm will be done.

I think this is a good first bug, actually. Not high priority by any means, but easier to fix now that we've forked tabbrowser.

How is this different from bug 656002?
Comment 10•11 years ago

This bug is roughly about making the tabbrowser context menu observe Browser:Reload, that bug is roughly about doing that but also disabling Browser:Reload when about:newtab is loaded.

Eight years later, still no apparent interest in this bug. Closing again.
