When I have changed the parameters for a Custom Message view the display still
shows the old list of qualifying messages. It needs an auto-refresh if any of
the selection criteria have changed

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a custom view, and show the messages it selects
2. change the view (Customize/edit) to something different
3.Press OK
Note that View does not change

Actual Results:  
View does not change

Expected Results:  
Refreshed the view with the new set of selected messages

I have the same problem version 1.5 Beta 2 (20051006)

Not always reproducible, but it appears frequently enough. Just for custom view as reporter said.

Really?  It seems to always happen for me, so long as the list of filtered messages really would be different.

This problem continues to exist in 1.5.0.8, Seamonkey 1.0.x, and the 1.8.1 branch.  Note: there have been recent changes (1.8.1 branch, and trunk) to the dropdown (due to tags): bug 349991.  These changes introduced some new problems which is now causing scrambling; see bug 362990 in particular.

Both old non-tag and new with-tag code do a check on "did the view change?" to avoid unnecessary view rebuilds. This doesn't catch changes *to* a view which don't change its name, unfortunately. :|
