User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 1.0.7 (20050923) Many emails in my inbox have the date/time stamp listed as 01/01/1970 00:00 They are all system generated emails from a software agent written by one of our developers. He does not think the problem lies with his code as they display properly in OE 6 An example of the message source code is below. The same problem does not happen in Outlook Express V6 ************************************************************************** Return-path: <agent@pslprint.com> Authentication-Results: pslprint.com from=agent@pslprint.com; domainkeys=fail (no key) Received: from itsupport.pslprint.com ([192.168.0.3]) by pslprint.com (pslprint.com [195.137.124.34]) (MDaemon.PRO.v8.0.2.R) with ESMTP id md50000021889.msg for <esupport@pslprint.com>; Thu, 16 Jun 2005 10:15:11 +0100 To: esupport@pslprint.com From: agent@pslprint.com (QIXA AGENT) Subject: online Requests IT-Card: batch JM0LYXL5 X-Mailer: Standard SMTP Connector 21.2 Importance: Normal Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Spam-Processed: pslprint.com, Thu, 16 Jun 2005 10:15:11 +0100 (not processed: message from valid local sender) X-MDRcpt-To: esupport@pslprint.com X-Rcpt-To: esupport@pslprint.com X-MDRemoteIP: 192.168.0.3 X-Return-Path: agent@pslprint.com X-MDAV-Processed: pslprint.com, Thu, 16 Jun 2005 10:15:11 +0100 X-MDRedirect: 1 X-MDaemon-Deliver-To: frank@pslprint.com Please run the reports Disclaimer This e-mail and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. V/dupe. I really disagree with the assertion that the sending server is behaving correctly because Outlook accepted the content. I'd agree with the idea that: Thunderbird or Seamonkey:MailNews should parse it, because Outlook parsed it. I was working in an environment recently, where .NET was used to produce Date headers, and it produced headers that only worked w/ Microsoft clients.
