Never had this happen until recently. I have used Firefox since June. I have Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7. I have read the other bug tickets about this. No body seems to have an answer to why this happens or a fix for it. I can't keep having my bookmarks disappearing. This is the first & only issue I have had with Firefox. This is a major issue for me because I am a web site developer & run some eCurrency exchange sites. I wont use a product this is instable as this. Thanks! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Their no steps, it happens when it happens. 2. 3. Expected Results: Not delet my bookmarks. What do you think.... I am using Firefox the way it was when I downloaded it. I didn't install any thing extra.
Upcoming 1.5 version is better on this. It also backs up your bookmarks every day automatically, so there is a way out of the problem.

(In reply to comment #2) >how do I fix it currently? 1.Most probably by closing Firefox and not letting windows close it. (the cause is kinda vague though, but seems to point in that direction) 2.Make a copy of bookmarks.html in your profile (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile#Firefox )
