I have tried several sites thatg have .pdf files for viewing. it is the same,
mozilla just freezes and I have to stop the application. I am using the new beta
version to see it that helped, but the older version did the same thing.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.try to open a .pdf file from a site

Actual Results:  
1. the screen freezes 

Expected Results:  
should have opened the file

Do you use acrobat reader 7.0.X ?
If not, update the reader , the 6 versions were notorious crashers

I have this problem with Firefox 1.5.0.1 and Adobe Acrobat 7.0.7.

The last time, it occurred when I went to:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5854/index.html

Inside featured links, I right clicked on 
"Read Miercom on Cisco 2811 routers" and selected "Open link in new tab"

Firebox locked up.  I could not select another tab.  Task manager showed Firebox "not responding."  But CPU load was near 0%.

After doing end task, I saw an adobe popup, which said:

There was an error processing a page.  A file I/O error has occurred.  The file connection timed out.

This happens to me about once a day.

What version of Adobe Acrobat (Reader) or Adobe Reader/Acrobat do you use?
See meta Bug 336184 Comment #2 for getting application and plugin version.
If 6.0.0, DUP of Bug 204017(crash) or Bug 214137(hang).
If 7.0.x, see dependency tree of meta Bug 336184, and read all bug reports for 7.0.x (summary contains 7.0.x) pointed by the tree.

If you have still problem, see dependency tree of meta Bug 336184, and check all bugs listed in it.

Sorry I did not respond for so long.  I have been using IE for the last year because I really needed to open dozens of PDFs a day.

Today I downloaded the latest Adobe Reader (8.0.0) and it works great with both Firefox 2.0.0.3 and IE 7.0.5730.11.
