Details

(Keywords: regression)

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051025 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051025 Firefox/1.5

When downloading a .exe file there is a dialog poping up asking me what to do. If a click cancel I get the following error in the javascipt console.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
(Have the option for Firefox to ask where to save files)
1.Open http://www.mozilla.org
2.Click to download Firefox
3.With the dialog pop up to ask what to do if 'Firefox Setup x.x.x' click 'Cancel'

Actual Results:
There is the following error in the javascript console:

Error: dialog has no properties
Source File: chrome://mozapps/content/downloads/unknownContentType.xul
Line: 1
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051025 Firefox/1.5 ID:2005102523

I see this too (only in branch).
regression from somewhere in february 2005.
Flags: blocking1.8rc1?
Keywords: regression
does the cancel operation still work? Unlikely that we'd respin 1.5 for this unless there is some underlying behavioral issue for the end user.
Flags: blocking1.8rc1? → blocking1.8rc1-
cancel do work,

since 1.8rc1 is frozen there should be a blocking1.8rc2 flag so that bug like this be sure to be fixed for Firefox 1.5 Final.
Don't know if it is related to this error, but when I click a download link (new profile, default setings, no extensions), choose Open, then close the Download window, then close Firefox and click Cancel Download, a crash follows: TB11126022E
I experienced this earlier in Bug 313696, but have no idea to what bug it belongs.
Tried one of the links here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/tinderbox-builds/pacifica-mozilla1.8/

I tell this once again, because it is an important function.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Click a link, choose Open with (= default in a new profile).
2. While downloading, close the Download window.
3. Close Firefox. A warning will appear. Cancel the download. A crash will follow.
I confirm comment #5,

You should file a new bug with this and probably put this blocking1.8rc1?
For the crash I filed Bug 313999.
This bug is still alive and well in

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060915 BonEcho/2.0 ID:2006091504

I get three errors like the the original report when trying to d/l
  http://hixie.ch/tests/adhoc/http/content-type/001.txt
which is sent as application/x-hixie-test.

This was fixed on the trunk, but not the 1.8 branch. It should be fairly harmless.
