Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7

If Firefox is running when laptop (Centrino) enters standby-mode, it will go into an eternal loop and consume 100% of CPU when standby-mode is interrupted.

This probably is related to the use of the ad-removal software AdMuncher ( http://admuncher.com/ ).

Opera or IE is not affected. All versions of Firefor I've used are affetcted (0.5 -> 1.0.7)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. (Install AdMuncher - http://admuncher.com/ )
2. Start FireFox, enter some site
3. Set Laptop in standby-mode
4. Return From Stand-by mode
5. Check Task Manager/Processes for CPU usage of Firefox.exe

Actual Results:
100% CPU usage

Expected Results:
Normal CPU usage
Related to Suite bug 213637 (or maybe bug 299202)?
In my experience, the only necessary component for this behavior is firefox. AdMuncher is not installed on my system and is thus not the problem. To fix the problem, I have found I can close firefox completely (and my tabs are restored by session saver). Sometimes (perhaps all of the time?) I can get firefox to calm down by closing just some of the tabs. I *think* the tabs that usually fix the problem (when closed) might be those involving flash. Perhaps that's somehow related.
Summary: 100% CPU usage when laptop returns from standby mode → 100% CPU usage when laptop returns from standby mode (with AdMuncher installed)
Possibly related to bug 265172.
