314073 - If I change First and Last Name (with menu), the addressbook doesn't save the change.

Many names are wrong, so i just want to switch them. I select such i want to change, go to menu "Change First and Last Name". Everything wonderful.
If i close my Adressbook and restart, nothing has been saved.
To Save my changes, i have to start every card for him self and i have to press ok!
This happens in 1.0.7 and in 1.5 beta 2

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Adressbook
2. Select elements, wich have to be changed.
3. Select Change Names
4. Restart Adressbook
5. Changes has not been saved

Actual Results:  
nothing special.


I have no plugins, only Theme Winstripe.

If I understand you correctly, then this either works for me or is invalid.

I assume the menu item you are talking about is under the View menu and Show Name As? If so, then that only changes the address book view, it won't change the display name on the individual cards.

The display name of a card is only set on initial creation of the card from the first and last names, unless its entered manually. After that to change the display name you have to change it yourself.

The view menu with Show name as option affects the views of the address cards in the lists and should persist - to prove it there should be dot (or tick) next to the option you have previously selected when you restart thunderbird.

Please let us know if this does or does not answer your problem. If it doesn't then we will need further details of exactly which menu options and which names are not being displayed correctly.
