It doesn't happen in Mozilla1.7, so likely a regression. José, you're able to find a regression range? Otherwise I can look for it. By the way, you need to mouse down and then drag a bit to get the scrolling behavior (the scrolling seems to happen because of the selection behavior).

I will look for a regression range tomorrow

Thanks, but it could be that finding a regression range isn't that useful after all. In older builds you can also select text in the pre element when clicking next to the right of it. Probably that's a bug in itself.

This WFM now with lastest trunk on XP. Though the text get selected. Maybe bug 105894 fixed the scrolling (wild guess)? The main issue here was the scrolling, so I dont know if this should be closed or keep open for the selectin issue. Martin, what do you think?

Perhaps file a new bug on the selection issue (and mark this one WFM)? If you file a new bug on it, please mention the bug number here. It could be that this selection issue we're seeing is intentional behavior.

And I think it might be related to bug 289751.
