Please see the attachment for an example of the issue. I'm a little new to bugzilla, so please let me know if this isn't adequate.

We have problems with CSS tables in general (bug 291841). But I believe it in fact is the class on the repeat that creates havoc.
I've modified your testcase a bit, and is the third case not what you actually want to achieve? I'm not sure it actually styles as it should, but at least the binding is working :)

Thank you for the revision to this test case. The attached test shows how things turn out strangly if I try to build a table and just repeat a particular row. Ultimately this is what I'm after, but in the process I found an oddity with setting a class on the repeat element. In this test case it shows how the table formatting is disrupted in the second row because of the grouping.
From what I've read in the docs, the solution to this problem is to support attribute-level repeats, as noted in <a href="show_bug.cgi?id=280368">280368</a>. I don't want to turn this bug report into a forum, but are there any work arounds to create a table with repeating rows? I've tried about every permutation of repeats and groups that I can think of without success.

The fourth case is really hard to fix, the mixture of html and anonymous content which generates more anon content.
I couldn't get it to work very well either.

Updating summary. This bug shouldn't have anything to do with class attribute.
Summary: class attribute on group breaks binding → Styling group to be a table breaks binding

Is this a dupe of bug 291841?

Duane, please try this on a nightly trunk build dated after 01/03/2007 (so that it has the fix for bug 83830. I'm not sure that the behavior now is exactly what you were looking for or not. If not, please update this bug as to what we are still missing. But it seems to me that the group binding is now working that was previously failing.
