well, I just shut down my pc last night so that I could get some sleep, when I open the pc and open Firefox I noticed that all my bookmarks are gone, especially the ones in History. The Extensions are still there.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Shut down pc (all programs are closed)
2.Open pc
3.Open Firefox

Actual Results:  
All my bookmarks and history is erased

Bug 249150 ?
In the latest version Firefox makes automatically daily backups of your bookmarks.
For a simple backup of all your data, also passwords etc.: close Firefox, click on your Windows Start button and type %appdata% in your Run box. Copy the folder Mozilla (rightclick > Copy) and start Firefox again.

As Ria points out, in Firefox 1.5 a back-up of them is created every day
