User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 I enreted this into the address bar in ff1.5: "c:\Program Files\HighMAT CD Writing Wizard\1033\HighMAT_readme.htm" It sent me to http://c-span.org!!! Reproducible: Always Expected Results: It should open the file using the file:// access protocol
That's because Firefox performs an I'm Feeling Lucky search for "C".
I think it will be WONTFIX since you can't pass "c:\" to Google if it always autocompletes it with file://...
