User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Not that I shouldn't be shopping anyway, but every time I use eBay's search function (be in on the Advanced Search page or on the page's search bar), when I start typing a frequently-used search term and it starts to Autofill, FireFox hangs (I get the color wheel which just spins and spins and then I have to Force Quit). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Advanced Search page. 2. Type in a search term. 3. Go back to Advanced Search, and re-type the term. Autofill should kick in, and then in the middle of typing should spin/crash. Actual Results: Same thing. Expected Results: Autofilled the search term (i.e. "victorian filigree earrings") once I start typing "victorian", then allowed me to click "Search" so I may commence the spending of large sums of cash. It's major to me, because shopping = life but that's just me.
See Bug 298502 "[10.2] empty pulldown menu and Firefox hangs (regression after bug 282940)" See Bug 298502 comment 29 . It is possible that this bug is fixable if Firefox checks for a window paint in progress before resizing, but nobody seems to be working on it. Assuming that you do not wish to, or cannot, move to Panther, you might want to look at Camino or Safari for everyday use.
