User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 My father uses homebanking, meaning he must type a lot of "/"'s. Most of the time, Firefox intercepts those and spawns the FAYT dialog. In the meanwhile, I found no other way than to to make him use MSIE again. That's another bug, but what bothers me, is that I haven't found a way to disable this "feature" yet. There's should be a pref for this. Even better, that "disable FAYT hotkey" should be off by default. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Search for FAYT hotkey pref Actual Results: Don't find anything. Expected Results: Find it.
We usually don't add features in order to allow users to work around bugs. That leads to UI bloat, which is worse in the long term. If you can find a way to reproduce the problem (typing / makes the Find bar appear even though you were typing into a textbox) with a simple testcase, file a new bug report and make it block bug 320465.
