All other Bookmarks delete occasionally on registering a new bookmark

On three occasions now when I have entered a new bookmark, all other bookmarks have deleted. Its a nuisance more than anything. Is there a way of restoring them that you are aware of?
Reproducible: Didn't try
It's possible that this problem may have been reported via talkback, but I suspect not as Firefox carries on running. Usually Talkback flags up and closes Firefox at the same time.

Firefox creates daily bookmark backups in a folder named bookmarkbackups in your profile. Rename one of them to bookmarks.html and put it on the place of the "empty" bookmarks.html. First close Firefox.
You can find your profile by typing %appdata% in your Run box. Open the folder Mozilla until find one or more profiles.
