User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5 Build Identifier: Build 20051201 German Localized TB versions apply localized labels to "drafts", "templates" and "trash" folders on IMAP servers whatever the original folder name if the folders have been flagged in account options (or by default for trash). On a German TB build this is "Entwürfe", "Vorlagen" and "Papierkorb". However, no localized label is applied to the sent items folder. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create an IMAP account 2.Create a folder on the IMAP server 3.Assign that folder to be the "sent items" folder in account options Actual Results: Folder label in account tree pane reads "sent items". Expected Results: Folder label in account tree pane reads "Gesendet" (or similar).

AFAIK Thunderbird supports the standard "Sent" folder only in the local folders. Because of this, the localized word "Gesendet" is only used in local folders - not in IMAP or separated POP accounts. This isn't a bug in localization. The whole sent folders functionality is only supported in local folders.

Note how all special folders get their respective icons (including Sent items), but only the names of the drafts, templates and trash folders are localized in the folder pane and in the options dialog.

Note how the folders TB calls "Entwürfe", "Vorlagen", "Papierkorb" and "sent items" (see first attachment submitted) are, on the server, called "Drafts", "Templates", "Trash" and... "Sent Items". Notice any inconsistency?

Alexander, this cnnot be correct behaviour. Please refer to the two screenshots I attached: either you are misinformed or TB's interface is inconsistent (as it treats special folders differently when it comes to assigning icons and localizing their names), misleading (as the account options panel "folders and copies" and the use of special fodler icons suggest otherwise) and decidedly user-unfriendly (why should the user have to adapt to the fact that some special folders have a different name in TB than on the server, and some have not - now, "all special folders get localized names in TB's display" I could understand). Re-opening bug. Please reassign to TB | MailNews UI if this is not a localization glitch.

Corrected screenshot from comment #7 (attachment 210038 [details] was a dupe of 210037). Remarks from comment #7 apply.

Ups, okay: 1) I've mixed up "Sent" and "Unsent". _Unsent_ is only in local folders a standard folder with the related icon and localization. 2) "Sent" is correct localized in german Thunderbird: "Gesendet". You must NOT name the folder "Sent items". It must be named "Sent" > "Gesendet". I've been testing this with success and the string "Sent" is only existing once in the original en-US locale files. This string is correct localized.
