After sending mail, it should be copied to the "sent" folder. However Thunderbird seems to hang for ever. 2. There are several mentions in the bug list of problems using "save as" or "save", with emails "disappearing". I also get this problem. Reproducible: Always
Does it happen when you reopen saved mail (from drafts folder) and then saved and after the first saving send? If yes, see the bug report 319818 and 324110. mxxxm
