Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5
News & Blogs feeds always show up as "Article Summary" regardless of the "By
default show the article summary...." checkbox in "RSS Account Settings". In
addition all the feeds have their individual "Show article summary..." checkbox
set to off.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Subscribe to a feed (RSS or ATOM), make sure the "Show Article Summary..."
checkbox is off
2. Make sure the "By default show the article summary..." checkbox is off in
"RSS Account Settings"
3. Wait for Thunderbird to pick up new articles.. look at the article.
Actual Results:
The article will be in "article summary" mode as opposed to "web page" mode.
Expected Results:
The article should be in "web page" mode.
Identical to #315355 which is incorrectly marked resolved/invalid.
Build is 20051201.
Verified "message body display" option is set to "original HTML" as per previous report. Defect still exists.

Check bug #312819 seems to be the opposite of this bug

Same problem with 2.0.0.0., Win XP Prof, was ok before updating from 1.5.X.X.
confirming with 3.0a2pre. formerly, the feed was set to Summary, then unticked. the relevant feeds.rdf value is fz:quickMode="false" thus indicating it should not show Summary. yet it does.
Flags: blocking-thunderbird3?
note - this applies to new items received after Summary was unticked; the pref should always respect the current pref. bug 259018 applies to retroactively changing already downloaded/stored items to respect the new pref.

I downloaded Thunderbird 3 beta 3 a couple of days ago, and this bug still occurs for me - no matter how I have my per-RSS or global-RSS settings set, I always get the summary of the article rather than the webpage.

Alex can you select one of these messages and do View -> Feed Message body -> Web page ?

Ah yes, that sorts it. I've changed it to 'Default' now which seems to make it listen to the one that's configured in the RSS :)

So it works (displays page content instead of summary) if you change
rss.show.summary to 0
instead of 1

in 3.0 final it also showed summary regardless on what was set in settings. only direct change of rss.show.summary to 0 helped
