A pdf file that opens from a web-page accessed with Firefox causes Firefox to crash when I try to close the pdf.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open pdf
2.Close pdf
3.

Actual Results:
Firefox crashed.

Expected Results:
Closed the pdf and reverted to the web-site.

This problem has been happening since I started using the latest version of Firefox. I did not have this problem before. It's particularly concerning because crashes also happen when I'm logged on to e.g. my web-mail or internet bank account and, because of the crash, am unable to log out properly.
You make it awfully difficult for ordinary users, i.e. non-techy users, to report bugs. In particular, the need to create an account just to let you know about problems and having to identify the component - I've no idea what you mean by components and the explanations didn't enlighten me.
Version: unspecified → 1.5 Branch
Could you reinstall Firefox with Talkbalk (choose custom install; Quality Feedback Agent) and provide a Talkback ID?
To find the ID after the crash go to <install dir>\extensions\talkback@mozilla.org\components\talkback.exe and copy the ID to this bug.
you aren't expected to get the fields right, try your best, when people do, it makes things better for the rest of us and can improve the speed at which things get triaged.

Bug 323234 Navigating away from PDF crashes Firefox [@ _releaseobject]
Depends on: 323234
Closing a pdf file hangs Firefox 1.5.0.1 at 100% usage of cpu resources forcing me use the task manager to kill it. This did not happen before with the earlier version of Firefox. This problem does not occur with IE 6.0.2900.2180 SP2

I have Adobe Reader 7.07.

After I kill Foxfire, Windows XP Pro detect a problem and asks to send data back to MS. Foxfire Talkback does not pop up.
A pdf file that reveals this problem is:

Anne(Bug opener), what is Adobe Acrobat Reader's version or Adobe Reader's
version?
(Please put it in summary for ease of understanding of problem/searching bug)
See meta Bug 336184 Comment #2.
Why no response/no answer from bug opener, for more than three months to question of comment #3, and for three weeks to very simple question of "What version of PDF related Adobe's software do you use when your problem occurs"?
Is my question too "awfully difficult" question for "ordinary users, i.e. non-techy users" defined by Anne, who seem to never try to read/never read "Bug writing guidelines" or such important documents to "report bug to" or use bugzilla.mozilla.org?
Following is mail from Anne to me dated 2006/5/22.

> No, your answer is not too awfully difficult. I've not responded because I

Closing as DUP of 204017, since problem when 6.0.

To Jim Ronback:
Problem of hang when Adobe Reader 7.0.7 is different problem from crash when Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0.0. See dependency tree of meta Bug 336184 and read all bug reports of hang when Adobe Reader/Acrobat 7.0.x listed in it.

Summary: Firefox crashes when I try to close a pdf file → Firefox crashes when I try to close a pdf file(Acrobat 6.0)
No longer depends on: 323234
Firefox crashes when I try to close a PDF.
I am using Firefox version 1.5.0.6 on Windows XP Home, Version 5.1 (Build2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519:Service Pack2).

I use Acrobat to open a brokerage statement in PDF on a stock broker web site (e.g. Charles Schwab, E*Trade). I save the PDF to my hard disk and then try to close Acrobat. Firefox freezes showing a blank screen with a title bar at the top. I open Task Manager and it says that Firefox is not responding. I have to end the Firefox application using Task Manager. This knocks me off the web site and I have to re-open Firefox and log on to the web site again.
