All bookmarks have disappeared.  I am unable to save any bookmarks at all.  I cannot save any search engines in the top right hand corner.  This seems to have happenened after updating Firefox 1.5.  This is happening on my Dell 8600 laptop with wireless internet.  My other computer, which I have not updated, is using the Firefox software just fine.

I have this problem too.  I can occassionally bookmark, but not tonight.  I currently have 6 bookmarks, out of probably 40 attempts (I gave up and only try occassionally these days).  Not being able to bookmark is far, far more common than being able to bookmark.

I know for a fact, that the search engine problem is a problem.  But please, consider updating to 1.5.0.3 (the latest stable build).  In the meantime, this bug is a dupe of a bug that has 35 dupes (including this one).

Reporter, the problem is actually that a file called localstore.rdf is corrupt in your settings. If you read the instructions at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Search_engines_disappear_from_Search_Bar then that should sort you out.

Reporter - can you please confirm whether fixing localstore.rdf restored your bookmarks, or were they completely missing?
