I just installed the very last version of seamonkey the one from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/2006-02-05-11-trunk/
but when starting it, I saw a short flash of the splash screen... then nothing else... it refuses to start.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.install seammonkey
2. start seamonkey
3. see brievly the splash screen

Actual Results:  
seamonkey isn't started

Expected Results:  
Seamonkey should start

impossible to install talkback as seamonkey doesn't start
My profile is good as mozilla 1.7.12 (20060205) starts without any problem

ere, was this caused by bug 287179? (looking at its backout comment)

I don't understand the link between this bug and 287179 but you must be true

the checkin for that bug caused this bug, but it was undone.

I just installed the latest seamonkey release (rv 1.9a1 Gecko/20060118 Seamonkey/1.5a) on windows 98 se and I got the same problem : when trying to start, the splashscreen appears shortly then nothing more happens

It looks not so latest. If it's a typo of 20060418, that's not a bug.

If I understand, the only thing I have to do for using the last opensource, free software, version of firefox or Mozilla is to buy the last Microsoft XP and to throw my nice working Windows 98 ? Are you joking ? Don't you think It would be easier to use Ms explorer under windows 98 ?
