Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060214 Camino/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060214 Camino/1.0 Delete (a.k.a "Backward Delete" or "Erase To The Left"; a.k.a "Backspace" on Windows) causes Camino to go Back. I think this is not a desirable behavior, for the following reasons: 1. It doesn't work this way in Finder. 2. When using find-as-you-type, and you want to correct your search string by using Delete, but you press it too many times, for too long, or too late (that is, after find-as-you-type has timed out), Camino unexpectedly goes Back. 3. When filling out a form and you're trying to correct what you wrote by pressing Delete, but for whatever reason the form loses focus (and this does happen, especially in conjunction with bug 328026), you unexpectedly make Camino go Back. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start find-as-you-type. 2. Type something. 3. Keep Delete pressed to erase the whole string. Actual Results: Camino goes Back one page (or more). Expected Results: The search string in find-as-you-type should've been erased and nothing more.
The devs have been quite clear that the default behavior won't change, but there is a Gecko pref for this, and we'll obey that pref (soon). (This bad interaction with FAYT is one of my main issues with the mapping.) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 320203 ***
